Tech Tuesdays a success

The it@cork Tech Tuesday event is going from strength to strength

An ongoing monthly event in the Cork tech community is being heralded for opening up discussion on issues and providing networking opportunities in the region.

“CWSI, MobileIron, Group Logic and AIB presented great information at the it@cork, European Tech Cluster October Tech Tuesday event in the River Lee Hotel on one of the key challenges (and business opportunities) for IT  managers everywhere - securing corporate data on mobile devices without compromising the best of breed mobile user experience”, said Cian Kennedy, head of IT at Laya Healthcare and Director of it@cork, European Tech Cluster. 

“Tuesday's subject matter experts combined industry best practice with practical implementation recommendations in the area of bring your own device, mobile device management and security.  Mobile platforms and business solutions consistently appear on CIO Top 3 lists.  Securing these solutions is vital.”

“Most enterprises want to allow their employees safe and secure access to company data, documents and work applications,” said Paul Giltenan of CWSI, a business support contractor firm in Ireland.

“CWSI enable this with a range of products that deliver content to mobile workers in the most user friendly and cost effective way possible. Today we have been able to demonstrate firsthand, in conjunction with our partners and leading software experts, how to utilize the native user experience whether it be IOS or Android and always with security and safety for the enterprise as the primary objective.”

The chairman of it@cork, Denis Collins, insisted that the European cluster is continuing to integrate government, public sector and academia while providing value to the members of the cluster.

“We will continue to spotlight topics like mobility, of paramount importance to industry, government and commercial sectors,” said Mr Collins.
