Aspiring young actors have the opportunity to take part in open auditions for a feature film on Saturday 20 October at the Cork Arts Theatre from 10am to 5pm. The producers are looking to cast for the role of a boy aged 8 to 11 years old in a the film, 'A Long Way Home' that is being produced by Samson Films and directed by Paki Smith who has worked as a Set Decorator on the Batman films and as a Production Designer on 'Eamon' and '32A'.
While acting experience is an advantage it is not essential and those wishing to attend the auditions should contact casting director Nick McGinley for an appointment and the information on the two scenes that will be played out on the day. Nick was responsible for casting the little boy in 'The Guard' through auditions like this in Áras na nGael.
