Renowned singer and songwriter Don McLean makes a welcome return to the INEC in Killarney on Sunday 4 November with his 40th anniversary tour. The singer has recently released a new CD and DVD documentary called 'American Troubabdor'. The 30 track album also includes a previously unreleased version of 'Everyday' which was recorded in concert in Ireland in 1984.
Don McLean's recording career has spanned over 40 years and he has a loyal fanbase and continues to tour worldwide. From 'Vincent' to 'American Pie', McLean has create a musical legacy that has endured to this day.
The 21st century has seen a number of new honours for Don McLean and his music. Iona College conferred an honorary doctorate on the singer in 2001 and in February 2002, 'American Pie' was finally inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
In 2004 Don was inaugurated into the National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters' Hall of Fame and in 2007 he shared his life story in a biography written by Alan Howard.
