It's a return visit again to Cork for the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, who have regularly sold out their performances at the Pavilion in recent years. Hailed as one the most exciting live acts, these eight brothers from Chicago can certainly jazz it up with their infectious brass section and delicious grooves.

Made up of Tycho, Seba, Saiph, Uttama, Ben Yehuda, Jafar Baji, Amal Baji and Traik and currently based in New York, their musical pedigree is well and truly certified as their father, Klan Phil Cohran was a lead trumpeter with 'Sun Ra' and was mentor to The Pharoah's, who were later known as Earth, Wind & Fire.

For the past few years the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble have travelled all over the world playing at festivals like Electric Picnic and Glastonbury and supporting the likes of Blur at Hyde Park and Prince in Malahide Castle last year.

Expect to hear thundering versions of 'War', 'Spottie' and 'Planet Gibbous' from a band who love performing to Cork audiences and will certain brass it up the Pavilion over the Jazz Weekend.

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble play the Pavilion on Sunday 28 October at 8pm and tickets are €26.
