Those enjoying the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival on Sunday may need to take a second glance when zombies descend on the city centre as part of the Cork City Zombie Walk. It begins outside the Cork Opera House at 6pm and will make its way across the city and finish at the Sextant Bar.
This year the Zombie Walk is in aid of the Irish Guidedogs for the Blind and the Dog Action Welfare Group.
The Zombies will first meet at Cork Opera House at 5pm where there will be time for photo shoots, face painting and extra make up if needed.
Zombie stewards will also be in attendance and those attending the walk are asked to respect the rules of transit and be aware that as the city centre will be very busy with the jazz weekend, so patience will be needed. There will also be no toleration of vandalism, alcohol, drugs or other illegal activities on the walk.
The Zombie Walk is free and participants are asked to make a small donation to the Irish Guidedogs for the Blind and their representatives will also be there on the day to explain to people how the money will be spent. There will also be an after party in the Sextant for all the thirsty zombies.
