Salad days
With the weather getting just a little bit warmer - finally - it's time for salad days again! If you're sick of the same old combinations of wilted iceberg lettuce, unripe tomatoes and coleslaw, start getting a bit adventurous with your salads. Best of all, the ingredients don't have to cost a fortune. This middle-Eastern influenced salad is tasty and filling and is the perfect lunch. Halloumi is a very salty middle-Eastern cheese that is best grilled and served warm - if you don't like it, you can substitute with some finely sliced, grilled chorizo sausage.

A life or death situation
We constantly talk about the weather in Ireland, but this time it really is a matter of life and death
Focus wins out
I was recently discussing two job offers a career coaching client of mine was weighing up, which were similar enough on paper but differed greatly in terms of the focus of the respective companies. This was highly relevant as the roles were in business to business field sales of a technical nature with likely future progression to sales management. Both were covering similar local territories and the remuneration packages were within a few thousand of each other with sales target bonuses adding to the attraction. This example would be of interest to job seekers, sales managers and business owners who have something to sell in a competitive situation.
How quickly we forget
A woman died this week whose impact on all of our lives is pervasive, decades after her rule ended. Margaret Thatcher was an iconic figure in world politics and her influence on how society functions and in particular how the financial industry conducts itself, lives on. The 2008 financial collapse, and its ongoing effects on all of us today, is the best reminder of what Thatcher's legacy of financial deregulation means in the real world. However, her death changes nothing.
