Jonathan Healy

Columnist, Newshound

Jonathan Healy contributes his views to the Cork Independent fortnightly in Newshound.

Jonathan Healy joined Newstalk as the station’s Southern Correspondent in 2007, and was involved in establishing the station’s first studio outside of Dublin on Opera Lane, off Patrick Street in Cork city centre.

He has covered many major stories for the station at home and abroad, including the Haiti earthquake, the 2008 US Presidential election, the Cork plane crash in 2011 and has been a regular contributor across all Newstalk programmes.

Since 2010, he has been a presenter on Newstalk Lunchtime, one of the station’s flagship news and current affairs programmes.

Jonathan alternates presenting duties between Newstalk’s Dublin headquarters in Marconi House, and Newstalk’s Cork studio on Opera Lane – never forgetting his Rebel roots!

A graduate of law with UCC, Jonathan previously worked as a correspondent with Sky News, as well as radio stations FM104 and 96fm.

He lives in Cork with his wife Colette and their sons Jack and Matthew.
