Gobi_run_1 Higher testicular cancer rate The increased industrialisation of Cork is one of the reasons why there is a twenty-seven per cent increase in testicular cancer in Cork, when compared to other counties. MUH consultant, Dr Paul Sweeney, says that of the 180 cases of testicular cancer in Ireland, which he describes as one of the "most curable cancers", 30 of those have been treated at the MUH.  Work-hungry volunteers hit the building site in earthquake ravaged Haiti.

    DSC_2167_1.jpg Magdalene survivors want apology Survivors of the Magdalene laundries in Cork express their disappointment that the state has made no apology for wrongs committed against them. The government announced the establishment of a committee to ascertain the full facts behind the laundries and the Government's role in them, after a UN committee against Torture (UNCAT) judgment ordered the state to provide more information about the Magdalene laundries and issue a formal apology.
