Groups of walkers decked out in high-visibility vests have been spotted lately out and about in Mallow. They are part of the Brídhaven walking club which is part of the outdoor activities program at the Mallow Nursing Home and in keeping with their 'keeping as fit as we can be' policy.

With over 2,000 students attending schools in Mallow town alone, the Chamber estimates that the Mallow economy could benefit massively by simply ensuring primary and secondary schools encourage parents and students to purchase all school materials from copybooks to uniforms and stationary to gym gear in shops in Mallow town.
