1. Agapanthus
A truly remarkable perennial which keeps coming back year after year. My own Agapanthus actually survived the last two arctic winters, though I know that people lost some varieties to the bitter weather. The secret to survival is having very well drained soil. I used plenty of grit when planting and it really paid off because the plants are thriving off it!
They have a very long flowering season and you can expect masses of blue flowers from June to October.Read more…

I discovered to my horror at the weekend that our entire potato crop has been affected by blight. In all the years that we have been growing spuds this has never happened to such an extreme extent. There was a blight warning issued to the farmers last week and with all the rainfall it is no surprise.
