PV011012Week1_1.JPG Last Sunday night, I conquered one of my fears and attended my first ever singles night. The event itself was a charity fundraising event (which I used as my excuse for being there!!) in aid of the Hope Foundation. I decided it would be good to put myself out of my comfort zone in the quest to meet a nice guy and I thought it would be good fun also. One of my single girlfriends and I agreed to attend the event together.

    I’ve always said it and believe it, that increasing use of social media and technology has had quite negative effects on dating. In some ways, it has been positive, in that you can effectively connect with whomever you wish to (if the other party is willing of course), however, with everything being so instant and fast paced, there comes with it a lot of negativity.

    With so many of my friends now in long term relationships, they were recently telling me of the pressure of commitment, not from each other, but from older relatives and even co-workers. It appears that if you are over 25 and in a monogamous relationship for longer than a 12 month period, you can’t even make dinner reservations without a flurry of excitement the following day and text messages asking "any news?
