‘Swede’ your own film!

If you’ve ever fancied making a film then an event this week gives you the opportunity to do just that. Taking inspiration from Michel Gondry’s ‘Be Kind Rewind’ film where two characters remake their own films using whatever props they have to hand, ‘You’ll Like This Film Because You’re In It’ promises something similar.

The films they made were known as ‘sweded’ films. Now you can ‘swede’ your own!

The camera, sets and costumes will all be supplied, allowing anyone to supply the innovation and imagination. People of all ages are welcome in this participatory filmmaking event.

It is a pop-up, do-it-yourself film studio that accommodates all ages, in which you can write, shoot and screen your own movie. It provides each individual with a chance to try their hand at film-making in the most unique way possible giving people of all ages and experiences a chance at making movies.

Michel Gondry’s ‘Be Kind Rewind’ protocol began as a mission to equip each person with the tools necessary to understand and become a film-maker, whilst making it as an enjoyable experience as possible. It’s success has lead Hammergrin Theatre Company  to bring it to the Half Moon.

Apart from being in charge, the film that you create will also be shown on the big screen. So grab your opportunity!
