Clonakilty is set to come alive this weekend when it hosts the inaugural 'Random Acts of Kindness' festival. This unique festival will open with a bubble blowing ceremony on Friday 20 July in Connolly Street from 6.30pm which will be followed by a street party with music provided by The B-Positives, Re Nua and StanZa Traffic. There will also be a break dancing display, face painting and some random surprises and all events are free and open to all ages.

On Saturday 21 July there will be a Kids Sports Day from 10am to 1pm at the Clonakilty Showgrounds, a voluntary groups showcase and Speakers Corner at Recorders Alley from 1pm to 3pm and there will be a Swap Shop at O' Donovan's Hotel from 2pm to 4pm.

Anyone who carries out any act of kindness will be entered into a free raffle, with prizes including day treatments at the Inchydoney Lodge & Spa and family passes to the Model Railway village.

Kindness Zones will be set up at random locations around the town where Kindness Volunteers will shower passerbys with various goodies including passes for the Park Cinema, Fernhill cookies, Irish Yogurts, car washes and lots more.

On Sunday 22 July there will be a Jungle Picnic at the Emmet Square with a BBQ, music, storytelling and some of the Jungle City animals will be in attendance.
