Kia Motors Ireland are sending a fleet of Sportage and Optimas Models  to London to help Team Ireland with their logistics for the Olympic Games.

The cars will be based at the Team Ireland’s training camp at Lensbury /St.Marys in Teddington where most the team will be based in the coming weeks.

Amongst the athletes based at Lensbury will be those competing in athletics, badminton, cycling, canoeing, gymnastics and modern pentathlon. One of the Sportages is headed for Weymouth where the sail team will be based.

Present as the cars departed for London, Olympic Council of Ireland President Pat Hickey said that driving the fleet of Irish registered 12D cars would "give the Irish team a unique identity in London"  and the council was "delighted and thankful for the support of Kia Motors Ireland in this regard".
