Improv giant Ian hits Cork
Ian Coppinger brings his excellent improv comedy skills to the City Limits this Saturday.
Ian Coppinger last played Cork last summer as part of Stephen Frost’s Improv Allstars at the Cork Comedy Festival, a performance that wowed all who same them.
Of course being a skilled improv performer is one thing, but what is Mr Coppinger’s stand up like?
His stand up is just as strong as his improv skills. He may be only five foot two but he is an Irish comedy giant – well maybe more of quite tall Irish comic. Well worth catching, though
A founding member of The Comedy Improv in 1992 where he still performs every Monday night at the International Bar in Dublin, Coppinger is one of Ireland’s finest improvisers.
He has made yearly appearances at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs comedy festival, the Edinburgh Festival, the Adelaide Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Ian has performed with Whose Line Is It Anyway and The Comedy Store Players. He has also performed on ‘The Late Late Show’, ‘The Lounge’, ‘The Empire Laughs Back’ and ‘The Stand Up Show’. He was also a writer and performer on RTÉs six-part cult hit ‘Couched’.
Ian Coppinger plus guests plays the City Limits Comedy Club on Saturday 4 August. Doors are 8.45pm and the show is at 9.30pm. Tickets are €15.
