Cycling Festival concludes tomorrow
The final event in this year's Cork Cycling Festival is a Bike Fair which will take place on the Grand Parade boardwalk in Cork city centre tomorrow 12-6pm.
Combining fun and games for all ages with information and trade there will be plenty to keep festival participants entertained whatever the weather.
Producers and retailers of top quality cycling accessories and bicycles from all over Ireland will join local cycle businesses to show all the modern technology available to cyclists today. From cargo bikes and child-transport solutions to fashionable all-weather wear and cute accessories there will be plenty to tempt. Bicycles of all kinds will be on show including the Woodelo, an Irish-designed wooden bike launched earlier this year, and electric bikes.
For children there will be Tricycle Trials for kiddies and Bike Olympics for children and participation is free with spot prizes. There will also be a stand selling temporary tattoos.
Photographer Marcin Lewanowski will have a pop-up Portrait Studio where members of the public can have a professional portrait taken with their bicycle for free.
An interactive science demo ‘The Beautiful Machine’ will show why the bicycle is safe, efficient and comfortable. It will explain what are the scientific principles that stabilise a forward moving bicycle and why different bikes are shaped as they are!
Designer Joanna Karolini from Belfast Rain will have a workshop allowing members of the public of all ages to customise their clothes and accessories and participation is free.
A food market selling tasty local produce will have plenty of sweet and savoury food to keep festival go-ers on the go.
