Record rebels

A group of Cork body painting enthusiasts have broken a world record for the most naked people body painted in one place. With 316 people painted at the Camden Palace Hotel this morning, organisers including Cork Independent staff member Keira O'Connell are confident they have broken the previous record, set in New York, of 264 people. Hundreds of people of all ages, shapes and sizes thronged the Camden Palace Hotel from 8am today and the record was reached at approximately 12 midday to a cheers and applause. Some attendees included cancer survivors, family groups and even a group of colleagues from this newspaper. The annual Naked Bike Ride, part of the Cork Cycling Festival, took place afterwards, in peak traffic with some stunned onlookers.
