One Cork store has been shortlisted for the prestigious Insight NACS International Convenience Retailer of the Year Awards.

Murphy’s Centra in Rochestown will sit at the top table in the global awards that recognise excellence in convenience retailing internationally. Sortlisted stores are evaluated on a range of criteria such as the range available, layout of the store, customer service, people development, corporate social responsibility, technology and results.

Murphy’s has been shortlisted along with five other stores from as far away as New Zealand and America. Centra Rochestown, owned by Terry and Sieglinde Murphy has been serving the local community since 1998 and has focussed on putting fresh food and value at the forefront since the store was established.

“We are absolutely delighted that we’ve been shortlisted for International Convenience Retailer of the Year,” said Terry Murphy.

“Our dedicated team are committed to the best in class retailing and work hard every day to ensure shopping at our store provides a bright shopping experience through our great value, fresh food and convenient meal solutions. It is fantastic to see our staff’s hard work being rewarded with a nomination in such a high profile international award.”

Martin Kelleher, Managing Director of Centra, congratulated Murphy’s on the shortlist nomination.

“We are so proud of Centra, Rochestown for getting shortlisted for the Insight NACS International Convenience Retailer of the Year,” said Martin.

“It is a huge accomplishment to get nominated for this prestigious award and beat other convenience retailers from across the globe. It is also great to see high standards in retailing at Centra stores, being acknowledged internationally. On behalf of everyone at Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland, I would like to wish owners, Terry and Sieglinde Murphy and their fantastic team, the very best of luck at the awards ceremony which is taking place in London in September.”
