Flood warnings for Cork city and county
Tomorrow [Wednesday] is set to be a very bad day in Cork City and County according to Met Éireann meteorologist Joan Blackburn.
Gale force, easterly winds are expected with particularly strong winds and heavy showers in the morning. A brief clearance is then expected in the afternoon with heavy rain and winds again in the second half of the afternoon and the evening. Strong gale force winds are expected by the coast with very heavy rain.
Coastal areas are at high risk of flooding due to high tides and strong coastal winds. In-land areas are also at risk of flooding due to gale force winds and heavy rainfall. People should prepare themselves for an extremely wet and windy day with stormy conditions and a high risk of flooding throughout Cork city and county.
