Water supply to turn off in Blackrock
Cork City Council will be carrying out essential engineering work to the water supply network at Skehard Road tonight, between the hours of 7pm and 1am.
The water supply to the following areas will be off or will have reduced pressure during the above period:
Church Road; Convent Road; Churchyard Lane; Woodvale Road; Lake Lawn; Rope Walk; Beaumont Drive; Silverdale; Ardmahon; Skehard Road from Churchyard Lane to Clover Hill Estate; Blackrock Road from Lindville to Blackrock Castle and all surrounding areas.
The Water Department in City Hall insist that every effort will be made to keep the disruption to a minimum. Some slight discoloration to the water supply may occur when the water is restored. However this discoloration is harmless and will clear in a short time.
City Hall warned residents to check the clarity of the water before operating washing machines to prevent possible staining of washing and also before using dishwashers and drinks vending machines. It is also important to keep taps fully closed to stop any flooding when the water comes back on.
