Men assaulted in Cork
Two men were assaulted on Tuesday in separate attacks in Cork city. One was stabbed and the other was beaten with a hurley.
The stabbing occurred when a row broke out between two men in their late 20s in the Castle Park estate in Ballincollig after 3pm. The victim suffered stab wounds to his arms and lower body.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening. The men involved knew each other.
Earlier on Tuesday morning around 5am, a man in his 20s was beaten with a hurley in Knocknaheeny. The victim was attacked in the Fota Lawn estate in Knocknaheeny and was also treated in CUH.
Gardaí appealed for witnesses and anybody with information to contact gardaí in Gurranabraher.
