Pedestrian seriously injured in Douglas crash
A pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic accident which took place around 9am this morning near Douglas GAA club in Douglas village. The road was closed for a number of hours but has now reopened.
A 67-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a cyclist. He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as serious. The cyclist was uninjured.
Forensic collision investigators have examined the scene and the road has since re-opened.
Gardaí in Douglas are appealing for witnesses following the collision at the junction of Douglas West and Galway place.
