The National Ploughing Championships which take place from the 25 - 27 September has again chosen Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to support this year’s event.

The event takes place at Heathpark, New Ross, Co. Wexford and is Ireland’s largest outdoor and agricultural festival.

As the official motoring sponsor, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will provide a fleet of its  popular pick-up, the Amarok, to support the championships off-road transportation needs.

A total of 15 Amarok vehicles will be supplied to the National Ploughing Association organisers during the week-long event and will provide an essential support for key personnel across the 700 acres site.

The 4x4 Amarok, which was launched in 2011, is Volkswagen’s first double-cab pick-up and has become especially popular within the farming community.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also have a stand at the show featuring a display of vehicles for visitors to closely inspect, including the Amarok, Transporter, Caddy, Caddy Life, Crafter and California Camper Van.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sales and marketing manager, Niall Phillips, added: “We are delighted to be returning once again with a sponsorship deal at this year’s National Ploughing Championships. The event proved to be very successful for us last year and gave us a great opportunity to showcase our vehicle range in its natural habitat.”
