If you're curious about wine but know for sure that you adore a good night out, check out the latest event in the Cornstore's packed autumn / winter calendar. Following successful fashion events, the award-winning restaurant and cocktail bar is teaming up with local wine merchant Curious Wines to provide a gourmet wine-matching night for Cork oenophiles.

Curious Wines will host an evening of wine and chat with Gavin Quinney, a wine producer from Chateau Bauduc in France.

Chateau Bauduc produces red, white, and rosé, and is best known for being the white wine of choice for Gordon Ramsey's restaurant. Chateau Bauduc's Bordeaux Blanc Sec is the foul-mouthed TV chef's house wine and you can have the opportunity to try it along with a mouth-watering five course tasting menu on Thursday 18 October.

Gavin will discuss the wines matching each course between courses, explaining how to complement food and wine.

Tickets, wine included, cost €45 per head. Unmissable for foodies and, of course, wine buffs. Go to our website corkindependent.com to see the video of Oz Clarke and James May visiting Chateau Bauduc, or follow Gavin on Twitter at @GavinQuinney
