Brittany Ferries has cancelled sailings to and from France this weekend, as meetings between the directors and the unions involved continue to fail to reach a resolution.

A statement from the ferry company, which also cancelled ferries last weekend, outlined that "despite the series of meetings which have taken place between both unions and directors it has not yet been possible to settle the industrial dispute at Brittany Ferries. This has forced the cancellation of the sailings to and from France this weekend. Special arrangements with Irish Ferries and Celtic Link have been put in place and we are contacting all passengers to advise them of the changes through SMS, telephone and email".

Meanwhile Cork airport looks set to have avoided a closure this coming Monday, as the unions involved agreed to halt industrial action.

Unions involved in a a dispute over pension entitlements with the Dublin Airport Authority and Aer Lingus agreed to not initiate rolling two hour stoppages this Monday and return to the Labour Relations Court. It's understood this was agreed in return fro the companies involved not serving an injunction on the unions in the High Court today.
