Carpark fire and N20 incident

A fire broke out in the multi storey car park of the Blackpool Shopping Centre this afternoon.

Emergency services personnel at the scene told the Cork Independent that a car had caught fire on the second floor of the car park.

People who had their cars parked in the multi storey stood and watched as the building was engulfed in smoke. The Emergency Services are currently waiting for the smoke to clear before allowing drivers to access their cars. 

An incident has also occurred on the N20 near Rathduff. Emergency services are not yet at the scene but traffic is heavy and caution is advised.

Earlier, a bus went on fire at Tramore Road while there were also reports of a car engine on fire at the Kinsale Road.
