Musical mayhem at Rocky festival

Would you like to see some great bands playing in an undertakers? Well Rocky Mayhem offers a night of musical madness in a bar that doubles as a funeral home for only €20!

Royseven, Ham Sandwich and Bipolar Empire headline Rocky Mayhem this year in Kilfinane, County Limerick, just a few miles over the border. Royseven with their Meteor Song of the Year Award success, Ham Sandwich and Bipolar Empire will be supported by up and coming bands Underfoot Patriot and dREA.

This special night takes place just north of Mitchelstown on the Limerick and Cork borders is all about giving music fans what they want. As Rocky Mayhem co-organiser Maura Flynn pointed out, “If you want big wheels, candyfloss and muddy fields go somewhere else. This is all about the bands, the music and what is most important to the fans, the atmosphere”.

Maura says that this year they have improved their facilities too. “Kilfinane is a great little country town but it is set half way up the side of a mountain and the weather can be a bit changeable. So this year we will have a special heating system just in case,” she said. “Looking after the fans is a priority, as is treating the bands as well as we possibly can.”

Partly owing to the location, the sound is exceptional and the atmosphere is very special indeed. The arena is actually set in a huge walled courtyard behind a bar which also happens to double up as the local funeral home.

Expanding the camping this year, there is a special deal for ticket and camping combos letting you stay for up to three nights for only €4. Tickets are only €20 and a ticket and camping combo is just €24.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and direct from rockymayhem.ie. For more information see rockymayhem.ie or call Adrian Wells on 087-6199585 or Maura Flynn on 087-2697091. Email the organisers at rockymayhem@gmail.com.
