Do you fancy a free home?
How does mortgage-free living sound? Well now is your chance thanks to the Win A Gaff competition that has been announced by Cork City FC, Douglas GAA and Kinsale AFC.
The three clubs have come together to raffle an apartment in Ballintemple, with the trio partnership the first of its kind in Ireland. One lucky winner will be chosen on 12 October with raffle tickets costing €100 each.
The two-bed apartment is part of the Aylesbury Housing Development by Centurion Homes in Ballintemple. Spread over 807 square foot the apartment’s features include integrated and fitted kitchen and a back garden.
Commenting on the partnership Paul Wycherley, General Manager of Cork City FC said: “This is such an exciting opportunity and unique partnership. We’re thrilled to be part of this, and how it will support our strategic aims. As part of our strategy at Cork City FC, continued and targeted investment in our academy and community is where the proceeds of this fundraising project are earmarked. This will help us to continue to develop our own players, which we have a successful and proud tradition of.
“Players such as Alan Bennett, Mark McNulty, and Conor McCarthy have all come through the ranks, while current academy players including Darragh Crowley and Cian Murphy are now playing with the first team. Being able to develop our academy further is a key aim of ours, and this obviously requires ongoing financial investment. Growing our community projects is another key part of our strategic planning.”
Kieran Cremin, PRO of Douglas GAA said: “We’ve been working hard on this project since the start of the year and delighted to form this partnership with Cork City FC and Kinsale AFC. We really hope that #WinAGaff captures the imagination and enthusiasm of people not just in Cork, but nationally and even internationally. The lucky winner will own a beautiful new home, in a new housing development, situated in a fantastic area to live.
“As a club, we’re growing all the time, and we need to upgrade our facilities significantly. This fundraiser will help with this, in particular we’re looking at flood lighting and improving our pitches. Whether you’re Eoin Cadogan, Shane Kingston or an underage boy or girl, we want to have the best facilities for all of our players, and coaches, in all teams and grades.”
There will also be a second prize of a new car, and third cash prize.
