New tourism app makes Cork app-y!

A new all-in-one tourism app is set to shine a light on some of the city and county's best loved hotspots.

Cork App is offering Corkonians and visitors information on all things Cork, from booking a room, making a restaurant reservation or hiking to taking a self-guided tour, shopping or stopping in for a pint.

The app, which has been produced by Booniverse and is now available for Android and iOS, gives listings of Cork’s more popular pubs and eateries, as well as important shopping destinations and accommodation options across the city and county.

Cork App also contains maps showing the nearest ATMs, doctors, pharmacies, bike hire, taxi ranks, parking areas and emergency services, as well as links to important numbers like car rental services.

For health and fitness fanatics, there is also information on yoga, leisure centres, mindfulness activities, bellydancing classes and more.

For ramblers and explorers, the app also has the option for self-guided tours of the city, including an art trail, a museum tour, a walk through the parks of Cork and historical trails through towns like Midleton and Cobh.

The app has integrated calling and emailing for booking, a feed for important local news and Mapbox map integration for walks, hikes and trails.

Speaking about the app, Managing Director of Cork App, Ger Flanagan said: “Cork is already a thriving city and county but it still has untapped potential when it comes to tourism. The Cork App is simple to use and will bring a great boost to tourism and the economy across the county.”

Cork App is available now to download and use free on Android and iOS.
