Chopper up at Cork Summer Show
For the first time ever, the Cork Summer Show will offer helicopter rides for visitors.
Passengers will be flown 1,000 feet in the air above the Curaheen Showgrounds, where the show will take place this weekend.
Chair Robert Harkin said: “Cork Summer Show always offers lots of thrills and fun for visitors, and this year the limit is the sky! There is nothing quite like the sensation of hovering in a powerful, fast-moving helicopter – and you can really take in the size and scale of this show, whilst also admiring the breath-taking countryside of Cork, and local landmarks.
“It’s a super new addition to the show and one which we believe will be very popular indeed. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to take a trip on a helicopter this weekend.”
There’ll be plenty of action for those who don’t like to fly high, with live music from Frank & Walters, Stephanie Rainey and the Naildrivers as well as entertainment for the little ones from Billy Bubbles, Punch & Judy and lots more.
The largest food market in the country, Cork Summer Show will be packed to the brim with artisan food from the county, cookery demonstrations, fashion shows, craft workshops and courses, gardening, motors, drone racing, as well as all the usual cattle, sheep, poultry, pony games and horse competitions.
Cork Summer Show takes place from 14-15 June from 9am to 6pm each day at the Curraheen Showgrounds.
Adult entry is €15 and children under 12 go free.
Helicopter tickets costing €39 for one adult, with a child and adult rate of €75 and a family of four rate of €145 are available at adventure001.ie/packages/pf-css.
