November deadline for chance to win home

There’s less than 50 days to scoop a ticket for a chance to Win a Gaff.

To kick-start the last 50 days, an additional prize has been added, which is a four ball at The Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links, two rooms for one night's stay for four people at The Trident Hotel Kinsale and a meal for four in a Good Food Circle Kinsale restaurant. This prize is worth over €2,000.

The competition, being run by of Cork City FC, Douglas GAA Club and Kinsale AFC, has already proved a massive success with thousands of tickets sold.

Organisers also this week announced that the draw will take place on Saturday 9 November at Douglas GAA. The last day for ticket sales will end midnight on Sunday 3 November.

The 'gaff' in question is a brand new 75 square metre, two bedroom apartment in the suburb of Ballintemple.

A ticket for the draw costs €100, but a maximum of just 9,000 tickets are being put up for sale. The lucky winner will be drawn in a grand prize raffle in November.

The #WinAGaff competition is part of a fundraising initiative on behalf of the three sports clubs with funds being distributed to develop facilities at each for all age levels.

Paul Wycherley, General Manager, Cork City Football Club said: “There are now (less than) 50 days left to buy a ticket for the draw and once we hit 9,000 ticket sales, we will sell no more so make sure you get in to have a chance to win.”

The second prize is a brand new five door Toyota Yaris Terra, provided by Lehane Motors.

Aidan O’Connor, Chairman of Douglas FC said: “This is a life changing prize and I would encourage people to get their ticket while they can. The gaff is nearly finished and it is getting really exciting now. We will be using the proceeds to fundraise for our clubs. This is certainly a draw with a wow factor and it will change someone’s life.”

Mr Wycherley added: “We have already seen people buy tickets from Kerry and Donegal, and from as far away as Australia and Canada.

“This is the first time a prize like this has ever been offered in Cork, and we expect the 9,000 tickets to sell fast.”
