Deck the halls
We’ve waved goodbye to autumn and now it’s time to prepare for the festive season. And what better place to start than the home?
For those who love changing up the house, getting your home Christmas ready is very exciting and although it might seem like you’ve weeks to get everything sorted, there’s practical projects you can get started on now.
Good painters are like gold dust at the moment so if you want a new lick of paint in the home, get calling your painter now!
It’s also time to think about where the Christmas tree will go. Are you decorating outside the house as well as inside?
There’s inspiration all around at the moment from shop windows to hotels so do some research because love it or hate it, most places have their Christmas décor in place.
Are you hosting dinner? That big bird might have to be ordered in, so check in with local butchers and supermarkets to see if and when turkey ordering time will arrive.
And that’s not to mention the ham or the sacred spiced beef!
Also, shouldn’t you have started to make the Christmas pudding by now?
Hiding gifts is another thing to think about. Think of a really good hiding spot like the attic or ask a family member, friend or neighbour if you can store presents in their house. That way even the best of present predators won’t find your secret hiding place.
If your children are on Santa’s good list, then the main man himself and his team of reindeer will be popping in for a quick visit with presents – not to mention the chimney!
It might be time to have a think about where in the home their gifts can be stored after Christmas Day has come and gone.
This is especially true when Santa brings big gifts to your little darlings.
Whatever your plans, have a safe and happy Christmas!
