A college in Kinsale has four reasons to celebrate!
Kinsale College of Further Education has been shortlisted in the Irish Education Awards in four different categories. These are for best further education provider, green campus, student experience and Erasmus Programme.
This follows the college’s recent success in the West Cork Business and Tourism Awards, where they were awarded the prize for Best Use of Digital.
Kinsale College Director Liz Moynihan said it was an honour to be shortlisted for four national awards. She said it was a testament to the “hard work of the staff”.
She added: “For years we have been focusing on inclusion and improving access to education for students with additional learning needs. That’s why we’re so proud to be shortlisted in the categories of Best Further Education Provider and Best Student Experience.
“As well as that, we always strive to give our students a rounded educational experience, one that equips them for the workplace but also for living their best lives. Being shortlisted in the category for Best Erasmus Programme recognises that.”
Ms Moynihan said that the college has been focused on green issues, biodiversity and tackling climate change “long before it was fashionable”.
“When it comes to having a green campus, we don’t just talk the talk: we walk the walk. We’re delighted that our college is one of only four third-level campuses in Ireland shortlisted for the Best Green Campus Award,” she concluded.
The award winners will be revealed at a black-tie gala awards ceremony in Dublin on Thursday 20 February.
