The latest cosmetic products on the block
Although many of us are safely cocooned or staying at home, the world of beauty and cosmetics does not stop. You may not be able to attend the salon but brands are still releasing new and updated products.
Many businesses and salons are offering online consultations and safe contact-free delivery. With that in mind, I have included some of the best new releases in skincare available online or locally in pharmacies.
People who have an oily complexion often turn to over-drying cleansers and skip moisturising which often disrupts the skin’s natural protective barrier. This can then cause the skin’s natural microbiome (the bacteria that live on the surface) to become unbalanced. So how do you control and re-balance oily skin?
Dermalogica Active Clay Cleanser (€42) delivers powerful prebiotics that nourish the skin’s beneficial bacteria to bring the natural microbiome back into balance, keeping oil in check while protecting skin’s moisture barrier. In fact, it delivers 30 per cent more cleansing power while helping to balance the microbiome – leaving skin refined, revitalised and deeply purified. I have used this a few times as a mini mask and it works well. There is a superb smell and it washes off easily leaving the skin feeling fresh and not at all tight.
Ultraceuticals Broad-Spectrum SPF 30 Daily Moisturiser (€49) offers triple skin protection (UVA, UVB and antioxidant) with a boost of hydration. This non-whitening fast absorbing formula protects the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays to help prevent the signs of premature skin ageing. It delivers a vital blend of moisturising ingredients including shea butter while panthenol and niacinamide support the skin’s lipid shield.
When used daily as directed, this anti-aging must-have works to help prevent the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture and loss of firmness, leaving the skin looking more youthful and radiant. This broad-spectrum sun cream may assist in preventing solar keratosis and sunspots. It works as a perfect base for makeup, too.
The handy pump means that you can keep it in your handbag without fear of it leaking. For the ladies, I recommend bringing it right down on to the décolletage.
Nuxe has launched a lovely light SPF fluid for the face (€20). Its ultra-convenient ‘pocket’ size means it is close to hand on every sunny occasion. Its other secret is its ‘shake-to-apply’ formula, featuring an integrated ball designed to instantly make the texture more fluid and extremely light. Normal to combination skin types will love its satin finish and ‘bare skin’ effect. The smell is the signature Nuxe fragrance. Right now, if you purchase any two Nuxe products you get a free beach bag which is a great size.
Ziaja Body & Hand Hygiene Cleansing Wash Gel provides optimum skin cleansing on every level with both moisturising and antibacterial benefits to ensure hand skin is left feeling fresh, healthy and moisturised. The new cleansing gel is available in two handy and affordable sizes - family 400ml (€4.99) and handbag €200ml (€3.50).
With a unique formula, this two in one foaming wash gel kills bacteria, fungus and harmful pathogens while keeping your hands perfectly moisturised. It is the perfect soap for every pair of hands.
