Back into lockdown we go

So back we go to level 5 lockdown and I don’t think it has really sunk in yet for me. As I write this I am still working and getting things ready for the next few weeks but will be finished work by Wednesday night and I feel it won’t be till next week that I’m left wondering what I’ll do to fill my days.

I’m finding the prospect of heading into this period a bit more daunting than our first lockdown, mainly because we no longer can sit outside in the sunshine and getting out for walks wont be as easy but also because it felt like I was back into the swing of working again and enjoying it. However I can totally appreciate that this needs to be done and so I shall suck it up and do my best to keep myself occupied.

One thing I will be doing this time around is writing letters or sending cards to people. During the last lockdown a few friends sent me cards in the post and honestly, it so brightened my day and was the loveliest surprise to get through the letterbox in the morning.

It’s so important to keep in touch with people, especially when you can’t meet them in person and to just check in with someone that might be struggling with the current situation we find ourselves in.

I absolutely love the Bold Bunny range of cards

and prints so I’ll be stocking up on a few of these to send to people. Irish brand Bold Bunny is a small, sustainable, climate conscious business that creates greet cards, prints and more. The business was established in 2011 by entrepreneur and creative, Ali Jones, Bold Bunny in Chief and all round funny lady whose humour spills into her work. After nine years and with 250 cards created, Bold Bunny is now known for its cool and contemporary range of Irish greeting cards, prints and the increasingly cult-like following of the Bold Bunny Forget-Me-Not Family Calendar.

Bold Bunny has always had sustainability in mind, with cards made from eucalyptus fibre of the purest quality from a sustainable and well managed source, using 100 per cent elementary chlorine free pulps, since 2011.

I’m also going to use this time for a little bit of body pampering which, as I’ve been so busy the last few months, has totally gone by the way side. One thing in my routine that always gets neglected when I’m time poor is body moisturising so I’m looking forward to getting back to that and I’ve always loved the Body Shop body butters which are reasonably priced, smell amazing and leave your skin feeling super soft.

I’m also loving its new festive range which of course make great gifts but would also make a superb present to yourself because, let's face it, now more than ever we need all the self love we can get. The Soothing Almond Milk and Honey ultimate gift bag, (which is a favourite of mine) is decadently rich and seriously soothing. These heavenly rich head-to-toe treats are created to cocoon dry, sensitive skin, and are made with organic almond milk from Spain and Community Fair Trade honey.

It’s got all you need to care for winter skin, with a body scrub, shower gel, body yogurt, body butter, face mask and hand cream, packed in a reusable beauty bag. Also I’m very aware it’s only October but I am kind of obsessed with the advent calendars which are available in three different sizes depending on your budget but are all packed full of gorgeous products and would definitely add some cheer to a dreary January. Your advent calendar has never smelled so good!
