No foul play in Youghal
Students in Youghal have come in for special praise for their efforts in creat- ing awareness around the issue of dog fouling.
25 colourful new signs, which were the winning entries from Gaelscoil Choráin and South Abbey National School in Youghal, will be installed on popular walking routes throughout Youghal town.
Earlier this year, Cork County Council’s East Cork Municipal District invited local children to design a poster to raise awareness of the issue of dog fouling and Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley, has extended her gratitude and congratulations to the winning pupils.
“The creativity and community spirit of young people in Cork county is boundless, and as both a resident of Youghal and as County Mayor, I am extremely grateful for their contribution to making Youghal a cleaner, safer place. We have so many beautiful towns and villages in the county, thanks in no small part to dedicated volunteers in Tidy Towns, Pride of Place and Anti-Litter community groups. The future of our communities looks bright with many civic minded young people stepping up and making such an amazing contribution.”
