Making noise for positive mental health
A special fundraiser this Friday has gathered some of Cork’s finest musicians including Ger Wolfe and John Spillane who will perform with a host of other artists at the Firkin Crane.
#MakeSomeNoiseCork is presented by Shine A Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness CLG for the third year in a row and Myles Gaffney, The Lost Gecko and Dots Tobin all return for the event.
Musician Ger Wolfe said the purpose of the online event is “to raise awareness around positive mental health, and to signpost people to the services available in our areas.
“Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help and look out for one another - we should look out for one another. The help is there so we shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help for ourselves or for a friend or for someone in our family if they are struggling. Join us on Friday 30 for a bit of craic and music and info,” he said.
Organisers say they are collaborating in this event with Cork City Partnership. They network with Cork City Partnership on an ongoing basis and on many projects. This event is part sponsored under the Healthy Ireland campaign and a Government of Ireland initiative small grants for 2020 and by Cork City Council.
The event will be streamed live by Unity Media Network from the Firkin Crane Cork at 7pm to 8.15pm on Friday 30 July.
