Vaccines are a walk-in the Páirc
Walk-in vaccination clinics for both first and second doses of the Pfizer BioNtech Covid-19 vaccination will take place today, tomorrow and Sunday in the city.
The clinics are open to people waiting for their second dose of the vaccine and will also be open to those aged 16 or over and who wish to receive their first dose.
Second doses can only be offered to those who have received their first dose of the same vaccine at least 21 days ago.
Those attending for a second dose must bring proof of their first dose as well as photo ID.
Anyone already has their first dose of Pfizer BioNtech Covid-19 vaccination can attend for a second dose, regardless of where they got the first one.
Anyone attending a clinic for their first dose are asked to provide a PPS number if they have one, their Eircode, mobile phone number and email address, and photo ID with their date of birth
Sinead Horgan, vaccination project lead with the South/South West Hospital Group, said that as well as allowing anyone unvaccinated to start their vaccination process, this weekend’s clinics will also allow people who have received their first dose of a vaccine to receive their second dose at a time and place convenient for them.
“We urge you to take up your second dose of Pfizer so that you have full protection against Covid-19. We have seen a great reaction to the vaccination campaign in Cork, and now we are offering an opportunity to anyone who missed their second appointment to have their second dose at a time and location that suits them,” she said.
The walk-in clinics are open from 9am-2pm today at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 1-4pm tomorrow at City Hall, and 11am-2pm in City Hall again on Sunday.
