Folk concert in Inniscarra
Inniscarra will soon be rocking to the lively sounds of Breton folk band E-Leizh.
The local twinning association is hosting a free Breton – Irish Folk Night on Sunday 14 November at 7.30pm.
Concert organiser Catherine Frost said: “We are delighted to have this band back in Inniscarra. “Two years ago they put on a superb and memorable show, and as well as the Bretons, there will be some brilliant Irish traditional music.W
He added: We’re lucky to have been offered St Senan’s Church of Ireland at Inniscarra again. The venue is ideal and atmospheric.”
Inniscarra has been linked with the pretty town of Plougonven in Brittany for over 30 years.
The twinning group is planning a visit from Plougonven next April, with families all over Inniscarra waiting to welcome 30 visitors for a full week of events.
The Communicating Europe project of the Department of Foreign Affairs is helping with the folk concert, as well as a song and art contest.
The Breton-Irish concert is at St Senan’s Church of Ireland, Inniscarra on Sunday 14 November. Covid-19 regulations will be implemented, so bring proof of immunity/vaccination.
