Motorcyclist remains in critical condition

A man in his 70s remains in a critical condition today after his motorcycle crashed on the M8 near the Dunkettle Interchange yesterday evening.

At around 5pm on Sunday, the motorcyclist collided with traffic management signage in a single vehicle serious road traffic collision. He was removed from the scene to CUH where he remains.

The scene was preserved and forensic collision investigators examined the scene last night. The road was closed for a period of time but has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
