Terry strange behaviour
Almost anything (or anyone) is likely to happen when eccentric comedian Terry Alderton takes to the stage at City Limits Comedy Club this weekend.
A one-man drama triangle of prosecutor, rescuer and victim all rolled into one, Terry commands many voices and calls upon them at will to surprise, confuse and ultimately delight his audience.
Having performed all over the globe, the Essex-born comic is regarded as one of the most exciting comedians in the business and had performed alongside some of comedy’s biggest stars including Michael McIntyre, Joan Rivers and Eddie Izzard. Izzard would later describe Terry a “very funny comic with a fantastic comedy mind, but someone who really ought to seek some sort of professional help”.
Terry’s accolades include winning The Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality and a Perrier nomination for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He also best Best International Act at the New Zealand Comedy Festival.
Also an actor, Terry has starred in ‘EastEnders’ (BBC1), ‘London’s Burning’ (ITV1), ‘The Bill' (ITV1), ‘Holby City’ (BBC1), and ‘Waking the Dead’ (BBC1).
Supporting Terry this Saturday night is Cork’s own up and coming comedian Ian Burke. Since bursting onto the comedy scene a little over a year and a pandemic ago, Ian has quickly established himself as an act to watch after winning Show Me The Funny 2022 and Cork Comedian of the Year 2020.
Ian also reached the final of Dublin’s Next Top Comic, and Bray Comedy Festival’s Best New Act competition. Throughout 2022 Ian will be gracing the stages at All Together Now, Electric Picnic and Galway Comedy Festival.
Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Admission is €20.
