Gardaí investigate alleged assault

Gardaí are this morning investigating an alleged assault which is believed to have happened in the Blackrock area last night, 28 April.

Gardaí this morning had an area cordoned off along the popular walk and cycleway, the old Blackrock railway line - parallel to the marina walkway and near Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

A statement to the Cork Independent said: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that is reported to have occurred on Thursday, 28 April in the Blackrock area of Cork.

“Investigations are ongoing into this matter. No further information is available at this time.”
