Nicole’s got soul
Leeside beauty Nicole O’Brien has exploded back onto the music scene with a brand new, hotly anticipated single.
Filled with rhythmic, sonic sounds and syncopated beats, ‘C’est La Vie’ is a real anthem for 2022.
Fresh on the back of her debut single ‘Irish Eyes’ which reached number 1 in the Irish iTunes Charts, and ‘Call It Love’, which reached number 4, ‘C’est La Vie’ is an empowering and personal piece.
For the 27 year old West Cork native, music has been a means to escape and to build confidence in herself, and she wants her new track to instil the same sense of worth and self-respect to those who listen to it.
“It’s vital younger girls understand and have the courage to move on from any bad situation they are in,” explains Nicole.
“I want to communicate to other young females that they are strong enough to walk away from any toxic situation.
“I used to struggle with confidence really badly and have found my inner confidence over the last two years. I wanted to showcase how each person needs to know their worth and respect themselves in this new track.
“I wanted to be that artist who people listen to when they need a pick me up and feel like the badass bitch they are,” she added.
The UCC commerce graduate became a household name in 2020 as the breakout star of Netflix’s ‘Too Hot To Handle’, and since then her star has continued to rise, in particular when it came to her musical pursuits.
Born into a family ingrained in the music industry, she has always had her heart set on dominating the charts. With music in her bones, Nicole has been singing since she was 5 years old and studied musical theatre for 6 years as well as playing piano, guitar and drums.
Throughout the years, Nicole has won numerous awards for piano and vocals as well as earning a scholarship to the Irish Royal Academy of Music at a young age.
Since signing a record deal in 2021, Nicole’s career has been elevated, now working with the industry’s leading producers and songwriters. Her current team have worked with the likes of AnneMarie, Steve Aoki, KSI and Yungblud.
