Support Enable Ireland this Christmas

From wreaths to crafts, there will be a range of choice at Enable Ireland this Saturday 10 December, for those looking to pick up some gorgeous gifts and support a local charity.

Taking place from 12-5pm, there will be some beautiful handmade Christmas wreaths for sale at the festive market and if you are interested in crafts, you’re in luck, as there will also be a range of hand stitched or crocheted decorations for sale, all lovingly made by the hands of dedicated volunteers led by Betty Desmond.

Eileen O’Brien from the Association of Irish Floral Artists will also be giving mini Christmas flower demonstrations at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

“Watch Eileen as she creates beautiful arrangements right in front of you. Christmas wreaths can be used in multiple ways, for your front door as a seasonal pop of colour, as a table centre-piece or as a wreath for the grave of one you love,” said an Enable Ireland spokesperson.

All funds raised will go to the development of Enable Ireland's new children's centre in Curraheen.

Enable Ireland has provided disability services in Cork for nearly 70 years. It is the lead agency for three Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT’s) at the Lavanagh Centre in Curraheen.

Enable Ireland has 2 charity shops in Cork, on North Main Street and a new shop on Parnell Place. Profits from these shops support the charity’s disability services. Every year, Enable Ireland requires over €2 million in additional income from their charity shops and fundraising to go towards meeting the costs of delivering their vital disability services.
