Trooper Kearney continues recovery
Trooper Shane Kearney is no longer in a critical condition in hospital.
The Cork soldier was attacked in the Lebanon in December as part of a UN convoy. Private Seán Rooney was shot and killed in the attack.
Kearney’s condition is now described as stable according to the Defence Forces. He continues his recovery in Beaumont Hospital.
“He is responding very well to treatment and is no longer critical with his condition now described as stable,” according to a statement from the Defence Forces.
“The medical staff are satisfied with his continued and steady progress.The Defence Forces and Trooper Shane Kearney's family wish to thank everyone for all the support that they continue to receive.”
