Teacher syndicate claims Euromillions prize

The celebrations are continuing for a group of lucky Cork teachers who today will celebrate their recent €500,000 EuroMillions win in luxury.

The 64-strong syndicate from St Colman's Community College in Midleton won the EuroMillions plus top prize on 17 January.

Today, the National Lottery confirmed that the teachers have claimed their prize and will celebrate in the Dean Hotel in Cork city today.

The winning quick pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw in Tim McCarthy News on Main Street in Midleton.

Each syndicate member will receive just under €8,000 once the prize is divided up.
