Woman suffers serious injuries after crash near Riverstick

A passenger in a car involved in an accident has been taken to CUH with serious injuries after a crash involving two vehicles last night.

The woman in her 20s was in a vehicle involved in a collision involving two vehicles that occurred on the R600 at Coolcarron between Riverstick and Belgooly at around 5.30pm.

Gardaí are still at the scene and the R600 at Coolcarron remains closed to traffic and is expected to remain closed for the morning. Diversions are in place but road-users are advised to take alternative routes where possible.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R600 at Coolcarron between 5-5.40pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
