UCC’s Dylan honoured for February

UCC goalkeeper Dylan Foley speaking last week when he was presented with the 96FM/C103 GAA Sports Star of the month award for February in association with the Rochestown Park Hotel.
Dylan was a key player in a remarkable competition as he made some brilliant save especially in a penalty shoot out. Not normally a goalkeeper, he plays out the field for his club Éire Óg, but took to the position with ease.
“I really enjoyed it and with Billy Morgan in charge, it made it much easier as he is a fantastic coach and was key to our win.”
County Board Coaching Officer Jerry Walsh congratulated UCC and Dylan on “winning a fantastic and very important competition and our thanks also to 96FM/C013 and the Rochestown Park Hotel, for their continued promotion of these awards and indeed Cork GAA in general”.
Kieran McGeary of 96FM and Tom Tobin of Rochestown Park Hotel also congratulated Dylan and wished him continued success for the season ahead.
Family and friends for his club Éire Óg, were in attendance, UCC captain Jack Murphy also for Éire Óg, selectors, GAA officer John Grainger and Sports Officer Christine Mc Donnell and UCC Football Club President Dr Con Murphy along with County Board PRO Francis Kenneally also enjoyed the occasion.
Dylan is the 2nd winner this year, Ballygiblin’s Shane Betson was the January recipient.
This is the 20th year of the awards, and the gala banquet will be held on 26 January 2024.
