Capacity doubled at Little Island facility
A designer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems this week announced it has expanded its production capacity in Cork.
ProPhotonix, part of the Exaktera group, said on Monday the expansion came following an investment of €500,000.
In addition to almost doubling capacity at the Little Island facility, this latest investment has also delivered increased production flexibility enabling ProPhotonix to deliver its LED lights faster for its diverse customer base, the company said.

ProPhotonix Cork, originally CorkOpt, was founded more than 2 decades ago as a spin-off from the National Microelectronics Research Centre (NMRC)-now Tyndall National Institute.
It designs and manufactures LED lights including custom LED solutions for applications including machine vision, 3D printing, and disinfection.
The company provides solutions across industrial, medical, and security markets. Among its customer base, ProPhotonix said it partners with 6 Fortune 20 customers.
