Gorgeous gardens and family fun
From flowers to food and family fun, there is something for everyone at this year’s Mallow Home & Garden Festival, taking place later this month.
The always popular event runs from 26-28 May at the Mallow Racecourse and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. With a surge in consumer interest in gardening and the outdoors, accelerated by world events over the past 2 years, this year’s festival will focus on the role outdoor spaces can play in promoting positive mental and physical health for the entire family.
As with previous festivals, there will be a full programme of free daily lectures and presentations, with garden design expert Peter Dowdall and ‘The Pat Kenny Show’ resident garden presenter Paraic Horkan on hand to share their passion and knowledge in all things garden related.
This year, the festival’s 25 stunning show gardens will form the centrepiece of the festival. Each year, the show gardens are one of the event's most popular attractions, not only as a source of inspiration, but also entertainment through imaginative garden design and interesting use of plants and garden structures. The emphasis this year is once again on colour with lots of new and unusual flowering and foliage plants from Irish nursery suppliers including Ballyseedy Home & Garden Centre to whet plant-lover’s appetites.
The festival gardens have been completely transformed by Dulux whose very own colour consultant Cora Collins will be a guest speaker on the Saturday offering great advice and tips on how you can add some colour to your outdoor space.
Cork Builders Providers (CBP) will return this year and will have some exclusive special offers in their Dewalt tent for all festival guests, including some great savings on commercial gazebos and 10% off their Smartfence range across the 3 days. The CBP team has worked closely in partnership with festival organisers to produce some of the stunning landscaped gardens on display this year.
Overall, Mallow Home & Garden Festival 2023 boasts more than 200 exhibitors covering the full range of home improvements, self-build, and DIY, as well as expert interior and garden design advice, and local artisan food producers.
As always, ample free parking will be available just outside the venue and a shuttle bus service will operate from Mallow Rail Station during throughout the 3 days.
Full catering is available at the show, toilets, and first aid stations. Admission to the festival is €20 at the door and children go free.
